Day 1Depart USAToday you will leave LAX for your trip to Asia. The adventure begins!
Day 2In FlightYou are in flight to Hanoi.
Day 3HanoiYou are in flight to Hanoi. There your guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel.
Day 4HanoiThe morning is free. Then your tour will begin with a Cyclo Rickshaw Tour through the Old Quarter of Hanoi. After lunch you will be taken to the Museum of Ethnology, which is an excellent museum containing the ethnic costumes of the various minorities of VN. Afterwards, you will be taken to the Hoan Kiem Temple by the lake.
Day 5HanoiYou will visit the Ho Chi Minh Museum, Masoleum and the surrounding grounds. Afterwards you will visit the Confucius Temple of Literature. The rest of the day is free for independant exploration. *B, L Evening Options: Water Puppets Theatre
Day 6Halong BayToday you are going to one of the most beautiful places on the face of the earth, Halong Bay! There you will board a private ship (or ships) to cruise through the spectacular islands, eat lunch in the midst of the beautiful areas and visit the caves (possibly swim in bay). Stay overnight on the boat. *B, L, D
Day 7Halong BayContinue in gorgeous Halong Bay.
Day 8HueYou can go kayaking in this gorgeous area or you can ride a motorboat. Then you will cruise back to the harbor and then drive back to the Hanoi airport for your flight to Hue, where your guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. B,
Day 9HueThis morning you will take a bicycle or cyclo to visit the Imperial Citadel - first built by king Gia Long in 1805. Here you will visit Ngo Mon Gate, Thai Hoa Palace, The Mieu Temple, and the Nine Dynastic Urns. After lunch you will visit the Royal Tombs (King Khai Dinh's and king Tu Duc's tombs). Then you will be driven to Thien Mu Pagoda, Trang Tien Bridge and shopping at Dong Ba Market. Evening Option: You can board a traditional Chinese boat and hear traditional VN music (including musical cups) while cruising along Perfume River. You will continue in Hue.
Day 10DanangAfter Breakfast you will be driven on the Hai Van Pass to Danang. You can stop to visit the Marble Mountains with its beautiful grottoes and temples. After you are done with the tour, we will take you to meet a family in Danang. They will give you a brief tour of their apartment, answer questions and then make a delicious home-made dinner for you. Then, you will be checked into your hotel.
Day 11DanangFree Day to enjoy your resort at China Beach.
Day 12Hoi AnIn the morning you visit the Museum of Cham Sculpture. Then we will drive you to Hoi An and check you into your hotel. Dinner with Hoi An special dishes. Overnight in Hoi an.
Day 13Hoi AnFree Time to explore
Day 14Hoi AnToday you will drive out and visit My Son Holy Land. Then you will be returned to your hotel.
Day 15SaigonYou will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). There your guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. In the afternoon you will be given a general city tour of Saigon (HCMC) and visit the War Museum, Reunification Palace, Notre-Dame Cathedral, City Post-Office and Lam Son Square.
Day 16Can ThoIn the morning you will be taken to the Mekong Delta. You will visit the the paper factory, the puffed rice, and candy factories. You will spend the night at Can Tho.
Day 17Chau DocYou will get up early in the morning to go to the fascinating Floating Market. After this excellent adventure, you will be taken northwest to see floating farmhouses, the Cham villages, the pagodas of the sacred mountains and finally to reach the village of Chau Doc.
Day 18Chau DocContinue in the area. Some free time as well.
Day 19Phnom PenhToday you will take the 25 person Victoria Powerboat up the Mekong River from VN to Phnom Penh, Cambodia. You will be transferred you to your hotel. Once you have rested you can visit the National Museum. Evening Option: Foreign Correspondent's Club.
Day 20Phnom PenhToday you will visit the King's Palace. You will visit the Genocide Museum and after lunch the Killing Fields (outside of town).
Day 21Siem ReapYou can either take the boat from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap or you can fly. You will arrive in Siem Reap.
Day 22Siem ReapThe tour begins with Angkor Thom, the ancient capital city. After lunch you will be taken to Angkor Wat, the main temple area. The early afternoon is free. Evening: Dinner and Cambodian cultural show. *B, D
Day 23Siem ReapToday you will go to Bantay Srei, which is the pink stone temple area. After lunch you will see the Ta Prohm. Then you will return to your hotel.
Day 24BangkokToday we will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Bangkok where your guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. The afternoon is free to rest, explore or shop. Then we will pick you up for dinner followed by a complimentary 2-hour Thai massage.
Day 25BangkokThe day begins with a trip to the Reclining Buddha Temple. After lunch you will go to the incredible Grand Palace with Wat Pra Kaeo. Evening: Traditional Thai dinner with classical dances and traditional performances. B, L
Day 26Chiang MaiYou leave early in the morning to visit the Floating Market. Here you will ride on the canals through an older Thai river neighborhood and onto the actual Floating Market area. After lunch you will be taken to the airport for your flight to Chiang Mai. There your guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel.
Day 27Chiang MaiAfter breakfast you will visit the Elephant Camp, see the elephant show, cultural show and take a one hour elephant ride, go on a bamboo raft and learn about the noble Asian elephant and the worker monkeys. You will also visit the Orchid Farm. Evening - Khantoke dinner with hill tribe dances. B, L,
Day 28Chiang MaiThe day begins with a visit to the Doi Suthep, the ancient temple sight. After lunch you have your choice to visit the Handicraft "villages".
Day 29Chiang RaiAfter breakfast you will go on an excursion to Chiang Rai. Along the way you will visit the hill tribe villages where you will meet the Aca, the Hmong, Yao and the Karen. Lunch will be at local restaurants along the way. Then you will arrive in Chiang Rai and check into the hotel.
Day 30Chiang RaiYou will visit the Queen Mother's Home and Garden, Doi Tung. Afterwards we will take you to the Burmese border. We will then take you to the new Opium Museum. Then you will visit the historic Golden Triangle where three countries share a border, Thailand, Laos and Burma (Myanmar). Then you will be taking a ride on a small river boat to the Burmese side and stop on a small island owned by Laos. B, L, D
Day 31PhuketYou will transfer to airport for return flight to Bangkok and continue onto Phuket. There your guide will meet you and transfer you to your beach resort.
Day 32PhuketFree Day Option: A "jungle safari" which includes an elephant ride, a boating experience, a fairly unique elephant show and elephant demonstration as well as a monkee show. (Option: $35/person includes lunch)Evening option: Fantasee, the excellent multi-media show and dinner. (with option dinner is included $35/person)B
Day 33PhuketFree Day Option: The Phi Phi islands tour (this all day tour includes a high speed boat ride through the beautiful Phi Phi islands, some snorkeling experiences, beach stops including famous May Bay, lunch on the main Phi Phi island and some time to lounge and work on a tan). Dinner at a beautiful Thai restaurant. B (with option the lunch and dinner are included - $45/person)
Day 34BangkokYou will be transferred to the airport for your return flight to Bangkok. We will book you into a hotel near the airport which has a complimentary shuttle to your hotel.
Day 35Return FlightToday you will fly back to the US with a lifetime of wonderful memories.(meals on flight)
